I am an artist, recently moved from Cape town, now living in istanbul, turkey. Inspired by the resonant sound environment of Istanbul, but the absence of women's voices in it,  I produced a sound performance of womens voices on the rooftops of istanbul. The resulting piece performed with megaphones, and performed by four women all from Istanbul but different nationalities, drew on three different chant traditions. The conversation will be continued during May, under the auspices of Axis Gallery, in New York city. I am a painter of cites, and the sound installation is an extension of my thoughts, drawings, paintings of cities, their spaces, and the people who live in them.  ]]>
